On site grinding and in-situ coating services

Metso undergoes many projects within the Rubber and Plastics Industry. Shown above is an example of our on site grinding services, refurbishing a Comerio 4 roll wire and Berstorff 4 roll textile calendar mill. We can grind rolls to eradicate many problems including profile issues which can reduce the cost of excess material to produce the product. We take the dimensions prior to the grinds and the theoretical profiles are achieved, the rolls are ground parallel or cambered to the customer specifications.

Product shown above is an example of our on site thermal coating and grinding services on two Kobelco TSR rolls to eradicate a profile, wear and product adhesion issue. Both of the rolls were coated via our ‘arc thermal spray process’. This utilises our unique high chrome alloy and is ground parallel to the customer surface finish and hardness requirements. The result is a hard wearing, corrosion resistant coating which exhibits excellent product release properties.
